Constructed through folded and layered porcelain slabs and coils, this sculpture explores how line can expand into volume while retaining a sense of movement and tension. Coils are rolled directly through mason stains and underglazes before assembly, embedding color within the structure of the form itself. The surface bends, overlaps, and redirects itself through space, creating a form that appears simultaneously opening and turning inward. A diagonal line traverses the center of the work, guiding the movement of coils beneath and across the surface and creating shifting relationships between interior and exterior space. This directional movement activates the form from within, generating a sense of rhythm, circulation, and continuous reorientation. Through compression, accumulation, and material sensitivity, the work invites close viewing and considers how a small object can generate a heightened bodily awareness.
