The Incubation of a Dream II is a collaborative work and is the second in a series of sculptures that explores the concept of dreams, as in personal goals and ambitions. The series examines the formation, foundation, and fostering of dreams. It asks the questions, how are dreams created, nurtured, and come to fruition? Whether a dream is mild or wild, can it be actualized? The Incubation of a Dream II is a handbuilt sculpture comprised of two parts: (1) a swatch of loosely knitted cotton yarn captured in stained porcelain slip, fired, glazed, and fired again, and (2) a hollow porcelain egg glazed with a dimensional glaze that beads. Medium: Cotton yarn (burned off in first firing), Mason stain, porcelain slip, porcelain clay, glazes, wood, acrylic paint.
