While forming this unfolding box, I was thinking a lot about louis vuitton trunks that date back to the mid 1800s. Instead of storing one’s wardrobe across the seas, this piece stores jewelry made out of silver and repurposed lobster trap rubbish— a ring with a layer of a lobster trap tag sandwiched by layers of silver, and a pair of earrings that loop green nylon fibers (sourced from same lobster trap) tucked away in their corners. Between the two pieces, a hidden compartment, accessible through a sliding lid.
