This work draws inspiration from the architecture of Daxi, Taiwan, exploring the symbiosis between civilization and nature. A deep brown terracotta unifies the palette, emphasizing the profound traces left by time. At its heart lies a dialogue between "rigorous order" and "bricolage." I replicated miniature windows from the Japanese era, integrating iconic Taiwanese signs and spontaneous collage elements to anchor the work's tone. This embodies the "chaotic yet vibrant" aesthetic of Taiwanese streetscapes: a resilient folk culture flourishing within a rigid historical framework. I do not conceal the cracks from earthquakes, typhoons, or the passage of time; instead, I redefine damage through "Kintsugi" as an aesthetic of imperfection, symbolizing the tenacity of self-reconstruction. Gold represents a yearning for light—my highest tribute to vitality. I "planted" this building on a miniature hill, transforming its facade into a sanctuary where life blossoms within the cracks.
