This brooch is inspired by traditional Pennsylvania Dutch iconography, featuring the Distelfink (thistle finch), a symbol of happiness and good fortune. The bird’s form is realized through precise lasercutting and etching techniques, with each color applied using a backpainting method on clear acrylic. The piece is constructed from multiple layers of cut and etched white and clear acrylic with a double pin brooch closure on the back.
