Taylor Caputo

Taylor Caputo is an artist and designer whose work explores the relationship between traditional craft, product design, and emerging technologies. Drawing from backgrounds in metalsmithing, ceramics, and digital fabrication, she creates objects that examine how technology shapes culture, memory, and materiality. Her practice utilizes contemporary tools such as 3D modeling, digital fabrication, and AI-driven generative design to reimagine traditional processes of making. A graduate of the Tyler School of Art and Architecture and the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science, Taylor approaches making as both a creative and educational practice. As Director of the Engineering Studios @ Venture Lab and a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania, she develops opportunities for students to engage with design, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies through hands-on experimentation. Across her artistic and educational work, Taylor investigates how emerging technologies reshape our relationship to craft, manufacturing, and material culture, connecting historical traditions with future possibilities.
