Jackson is concurrently exhibiting a large vessel in conversation with her traveling hair braid installation in The Fiber of Being at The Gallery at Main Street Station in Shockoe Bottom. This work intersects with the Urn we see here in 50 Years in the Making. To Jackson, the process of coiling clay with every imprint made by her fingers is connected to the ancestral lines we see in the processes of braiding hair. Each and every strand comes together to make a larger whole.
