During our absolute favorite festivity, the Redeemer, celebrating the end of the 1500 pandemics in Venice, the whole city is light up with fireworks.
Since this year we couldn’t go back to our families, we really missed our Venitian roots.
We started this sculpture with that feeling and without realizing it we slowly added a tiny piece of Venice at every step of the way.
The ancient way of creating carnival masks with paper and glue got revisited into the use of our formulation of translucent porcelain.
Firework’s lights, that reflect on the water creating clouds and splashes of colors everywhere become proximity based LEDs that light up when getting close, and get brighter when getting closer. Going away colors get dimmer but never disappear.
