Endless sea, endless possibilities. As an artist living on an island, the ocean holds an immense place in my heart and artistic expression. Its captivating vastness, rhythmic waves, vibrant colors, and thriving life beneath the surface never cease to mesmerize me. As a ceramist, my goal is to capture and convey the profound emotions that the ocean evokes, both for myself and those who engage with my sculptures. Each piece is an exploration of intimacy, freedom, complicity, and calmness that can be experienced through the ocean's influence. I constantly experiment with various techniques and forms to translate the fluidity and movement of the waves into my work. Just as the sea is in constant motion, I mold and shape the clay to create textures and colors that reflect the dynamic nature of the ocean. I have developed a deep affinity for the color blue, which symbolizes sensitivity and imagination, and it often finds its way into my creations. Through my artwork, my ultimate goal is to inspire others and invite them to appreciate the beauty, simplicity, and energy that the sea embodies. I strive to create a sense of time standing still, allowing viewers to momentarily escape into the depths of the ocean's mysteries. As a ceramist, my artist statement revolves around my deep connection and fascination with the sea. It absorbs me with intensity, guarding my secrets and providing an endless source of inspiration for my artistic journey.
