For me, miniatures evoke a feeling of nostalgia, suggesting a simple time of life, one of childhood splendor. I feel there is a direct connection between tea ceremony and throwing on the wheel. Tea ceremony is a discipline and throwing on the wheel is similar in that one must have focus and dedication to the clay to create a unique finished form.
