My current artwork is a play on the devastating influence humans have on animals. I use clay as my primary medium and human-made objects my secondary. The natural roughness of clay contrasts greatly with the sleekness of factory made items. I employ humor as a way to draw a viewer in and subject matter that provokes thinking. Ideally I want my work to cause the viewer to think about the animals, what human existence has turned them into, and ultimately how their lives would be without human presence. It is often overlooked how cruel we are to other species; my work strives to enlighten the viewer.
