William Starke

William Starke began his career working in a blacksmith shop creating functional home goods and architectural pieces. Today, working as an artist blacksmith, William utilizes traditional forging techniques combined with modern welding, fabrication and finishing processes to make sculptural forms and objects. William’s work emphasises craft, believing that a finely made object has the ability to engage participation through universal visual and tactile qualities of desire. William works to create objects that can be experienced at the personal level yet convey broader concepts of consumerism and its impact on climate, health, and well being.
