My work most recently has explored traditional surface motifs utilizing modern conveniences like electric firing and commercial glazes. Each piece is enriched by pattern and color as it best suits the form. Hand-designed images are drawn directly on the surface or are otherwise stamped allowing for ease of repetition. In seeking out traditional examples, I connect with artists past while designing pieces for the modern consumer.
