Artist Statement – Corey Weiser
My work is rooted in storytelling and the rich tradition of folklore. Influenced by the deeper meanings embedded in fairy tales, I create objects that engage the present moment and invite reflection. Through both functional and sculptural work, I explore the intersection of utility and narrative, using multimedia with a focus on ceramics to seek communal ground.
My pieces range from intimate miniatures to large-scale sculptures, each carrying a sense of playfulness and purpose. I aim to create work that enriches daily life — objects that not only serve but also spark joy and contemplation. Whether it’s a functional vessel or a sculptural form, my work is designed to engage the viewer, inviting them to connect with the stories beneath the surface.
At its core, my work is about connection — to tradition, to each other, and to the quiet moments where meaning unfolds. I hope my creations bring a sense of wonder and enrichment to those who encounter them.
