Small Passage is a hand-built ceramic sculpture from my Throughspace series, exploring how space moves through and within a form. At a smaller scale, this piece feels more intimate—something to be held as much as observed. The arched opening creates a quiet passage through the structure, allowing light and shadow to shift depending on its placement. Its form balances a more angular, architectural silhouette with softened edges shaped by hand. Glazed in layered greens and warm ochres, the surface has a weathered, mineral quality, with subtle variations that echo stone, landscape, and time. Like other works in this series, the piece invites a slower way of looking—where the space within becomes as present as the form itself.
