mtn space gallery is pleased to present 1,001 Heads (and Other Tales), a solo exhibition of work by self-taught artist Maxine Spector. The exhibition will be the first time 1,001 of the artist’s ceramic heads will be on view outside her home.
Spector began creating ceramics in 2019 after exploring heads in paint and deciding to take the theme to a three-dimensional medium, ultimately creating a series of over 1,000. Using an entirely intuitive process without prior planning, Spector’s heads are each unique and explore the individuality of her developed characters.
