Artwork inspired by a baseball story about a catcher who wanted to do a trick play and carved a potato to look like a baseball. He was able to throw someone out at third with a potato. Jeremiah is playing with ideas around "faking" people out and other ideas around making a sculpture into a utilitarian object. He enjoys the idea of root vegetables being dented by the earth when they grow and how we as ceramicists "dent" our own clay. Sandblasted stoneware.
