In 2021, a dream sparked an artistic journey that continues to shape my work. In the dream, a bear stood upright like a human, dressed in a hoodie, baggy jeans, and oversized shoes. Its calm, reflective expression resonated deeply, inspiring me to bring it to life through art. Since then, this bear has evolved into a recurring figure in my practice, appearing in paintings, reliefs, 3D renderings, and cast sculptures. It embodies curiosity and reflection, serving as both observer and observed. This piece continues that exploration by sculpting the bear in marble, a material symbolic of permanence and introspection. Positioned to face other works, it mirrors humanity’s dual role as creators and creations. The bear bridges the visible and unseen, infused with elements of my Venezuelan heritage, such as traditional fabric patterns. It invites viewers to reflect on their relationship with art, themselves, and the universal themes of connection and emotion.
