HOLD FOR LISA NAPLES 2/27/25 My fascination with dead birds began when I went on a behind the scenes tour at the Museum of Natural History Ornithological Deptartment. The beauty of thousands of birds in drawers which told a story of biodiversity, ecology and human's impact on nature. I was struck with the thought that something could be so beautiful and dead at the same time. Eventually, it came to me that these birds are like pieces of me that I must let go. They are beautiful and dead. I must let them go in order to make room for new growth.
