I am inspired by the multiplicity in plants; their repeating patterns, variations, shapes, sizes and growth cycles. My plant forms are protruded elements combined with fragmentation, layering, and juxtaposition that define the multiples and create density. I envision how the smallest elements in nature interconnect, creating an ecosystem. The intense vibrant colors of my glazes reveal an obviously artificial man-made reality, highlighting new specimens that emerge out of the dense plant foliage. The colors are swirled together in rhythmic sequences mirroring the microscopic activities of plants.
