I was born in a coastal town in the northeast of Puerto Rico. As a child I was fascinated by the sea and the beautiful beaches of my island. Waves Over Rocks arises from long hours of observation in front of the sea in moments of meditation, videos and images.
Seing the waves coming and going on the shore of the beach until they hit the rocks and how the foam moves over the sand. I am excited to see when the enormous spirals of water form over the sea.
I start my experimentations with the use of the coil technique by repeating countless hoops to join them together and capture the movement in a rugged and controlled way at the same time. These shapes are made of refractory porcelain, burned at 06, previously covered with Terra Sigillata and then processed in Saggar.
