Casting Shadows is a series of jewelry and sculpture made in the negative or in the mold. After each cast I continuously carve, reconfigure, deconstruct it, and then cast again. The pieces evolve and a new body emerges with each cast, transfiguring the original flawless form and reimagining the methods that generate form and shape. The work ultimately explores authenticity within production – questionings what becomes the mold and what becomes the object, what is discarded and what is valued, and what is seen and what is unseen.
