Keun Ho Peter Park

The beauty of the human body, various living creatures, and even fictional beings brought to animated life always inspires me. I find that they share many similarities with wood, a material with its lifelike characteristics. This naturally leads me to create organic and anthropomorphic forms. I constantly explore innovative construction methods to create organic forms and create a sensory experience with sculptural qualities akin to those of a wooden object. I developed the “segmented carving technique,” which enables me to create organic forms with greater freedom in scale. To add unique visual and tactile features to these organic forms, I apply different carving textures and colors to their surfaces.
