Delaney Jane Larson

My work explores connection and the small acts of wonder we share with those we love. Human faces and anthropomorphic creatures appear throughout my work as both specific and universal forms, reflecting the people and animals who move through our lives and leave lasting impressions. Through these figures, I investigate how ordinary moments accumulate meaning over time. Ceramics allows me to use both surface and form as storytelling tools. I am drawn to objects that seem to float on a table, creating a sense of lightness and curiosity. Using hand building and wheel throwing techniques, I explore the expressive possibilities of clay and its capacity to hold memory, narrative, and emotion. By bringing together themes of loss, memory, and discovery, my work celebrates the tenderness of paying attention. It invites reflection on how joy, wonder, and connection endure, linking us to one another, to nature, and to the wider universe.
