I am confronted with the divergence between domestic and natural spaces. It feels like a part of my human nature that I constantly yearn to incorporate the natural world into my home. Like an undercurrent I unknowingly choose not to fight- I'm unconsciously foraging and curating natural wonders that I find. In my work, I want to understand and explore the divide between these places through pieces that are designed to exist in interior spaces, yet invoke feelings of the outside world, or vice versa. I am focusing on creating handmade pieces that directly reference natural elements such as rocks or branches, but do not directly replicate them.
