Daneiska Ramirez Lugo

Working with clay is a wonderfully tactile, ‘in the moment’, quiet experience for me. This piece, ‘At Home’, is one of a series using clay, nests and twigs. The series came about after watching a couple of robins create a nest and tend to their family in a climbing hydrangea vine above my side door that opens into my small city courtyard. I was spell bound watching the process close up, from start to finish, even watching one of the chicks come out of the nest, practice flying and then leave the nest into the world beyond.
