Geetha Yedurappa

I am a mother and an engineer-turned-ceramic-artist. My practice is a study of the intersection between technical discipline and whimsical narrative, treating clay as both a structural vessel and an illustrative canvas. I create hand-built porcelain figurines and functional vessels that bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and the quiet theater of human emotion. Growing up amidst the vibrant folk traditions of India, my work is deeply shaped by cultural memory, now filtered through a monochromatic, often macabre lens influenced by the likes of Edward Gorey and Indian folk art. Whether hand-building a sculptural inhabitant or illustrating a functional ritual, I move slowly and intentionally, leaving their expressions purposefully ambiguous so the character of the piece—and the feelings of the viewer—can emerge from the clay.
