Alexandra Kosciak

As a mother, therapist, and artist the experiences I have had have left me fascinated by how small objects can invite bigger connections and conversations. I draw inspiration from finding a sense of the eternal in the ordinary, overlooked, and ephemeral. Pattern, texture, and repetition fill my functional work just as they fill the natural world. While I primarily use an electric kiln, I am especially attracted to the capricious results of an atmospheric gas firing like that of a soda kiln.
