I think my work is hilariously inappropriate. Joyfully ridiculous and out of place, somehow always independent of the context it’s in. You giggle at it, but lean back in. A cutout from somewhere else, welcomed, but off somehow. Pasted into a different background. Overdressed and unexplained humble diva. Sensorially compelled into sudden closeness. This group of sculpture are playfully self serious, and colorfully sincere. They reflect my deep interests in femininity, drag, comedy, performance, and building friendship. I analyze this at nauseam at times so the color breaks through the heavy; dedicated to both the levity and the severity of itself.
