Alison Kysia

Alison Kysia is a Muslim woman artist who creates contemporary abstract sculpture. Clay is her favorite material because it symbolizes our humanity, as reflected in the Quranic verse that God created humans from this prized art material (15:26). The sculptures she creates are visual reminders of universal truths like love, transformation, justice, creation, and the everyday miracles of our existence. She fires her vessels to capture distinctive and irreproducible markings that reflect our individuality and sacredness as microcosms of the macrocosm. You can read more about her work at 786arts.com and 99clayvessels.com and on Instagram @786arts.
