My ceramic art is an antidote to our hectic technological lives. The direct hand- to- clay method of pinch, coil and slab construction (no wheel) begs attention to a nuanced touch and slows me to a livable pace. Using local clay, no glaze, and recycled materials to fuel my smoke fire, I try to respect the earth's limited resources. In our mechanized modern life, with the current climate crisis, my aim is to open our senses and bring us closer to the wonders of our natural world. I hope each piece can provide peace, beauty and a bit of delight.
