I have been working with clay as a medium for several decades, there is always something new and/or exciting to discover and learn. I enjoy using the organic nature of a torn clay edge or the rough natural appearance of manipulated clay material. Using textures to manipulate the appearance of glazes and overlapping glazes to induce chemical color reactions are a unique surprise at the opening of a kiln, that I love. Two years ago I left wheel throwing, due to an injury. I have continued to create with sculpture and hand-building methods. I studied graphic design at Carnegie Mellon University in my hometown of Pittsburgh before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area and then to Central New Jersey.
