Jungah Yi

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, my ceramic work explores quiet moments of beauty found in nature, memory, and the resilience of the human spirit. Through sculptural forms and painterly surfaces, I create intimate vessels that balance fragility and strength, inviting both visual and tactile engagement. While undergoing surgery and cancer treatment, my relationship with clay evolved into a sustaining practice. Working with earth became a way to remain present—reconnecting with the body through touch, rhythm, and repetition. Shaping, carving, and layering color transformed into quiet ritual, offering moments of renewal within physical limitation. My work is an invitation to pause—to feel the warmth of a curve, the calm of a balanced form, and the peace found in imperfection. I hope these pieces offer comfort and gentle resilience, allowing viewers to encounter their own reflections of healing within the clay.
