Faith Edwards

Using different hand building processes such as slabs, coils, and carving a solid form hollow, my work is an extension of myself while also sparking a conversation about media and its effects on the mind and body. Whether the piece is life sized or smaller than your hand I believe the direct relationship of viewer to object creates more possibilities for projection and an empathetic response. I typically lean towards a natural color palette for the glaze and use my hands and tools such as a smooth or metal rib to create directional lines that guide the viewer around each piece. I find inspiration from daily life, the people I interact with, as well as art history.
