Ceramics enhances our lives with beauty and character, it allows you to form a relationship with the piece as well as the person who made it; making it important for me to impact the user with my own aesthetic. With my work I share my narrative with other by recreating my memories through functional pottery. The natural tones of my glazes that are reminiscent of different geographical landscapes from my travels. The blue from the ocean, the green from the swamp, or the tan from the desert allow each piece to reflect my experiences. Pottery can spark a memory and take you back to a different place in time. I am fascinated how these memories make a relationship with the user and how functional pottery can create a thought-provoking reflection.
