Ro Robertson

I use my work to explore my experience as a nonbinary person finding acceptance. I embrace the multiplicity of the self with multiplicity in material. In this way, I honor my full self and range of experiences as well as what results when identities intersect with one another. I create imagery woven out of chainmail using small rings forming an image. Much like each person in our community each ring is an integral part as, without one, it would fall apart. These pieces are made to celebrate the shimmering, strong yet delicate, path we take into being. I also create work with engravings that use humor and references to spread joy.
