love.Sarah Rene returned to her personal body of work under the title Dwell. Using the simple yet grounding form of the brick, the repetitive acts of smoothing, joining, stacking, and sharing became a source of joy and reflection for her process. Shortly after creating the first brick, the artist had an unexpected conversation with her father about his experience in trade school and learned that he had once hoped to become a mason. This realization created a profound familial connection and deepened the artist’s relationship to the structure.
