My work focuses on finding points of connection with plants, marine life, and animals as intermediaries between the physical world and the spiritual world, between the past and the present. While combining and interpreting its forms and functions, I am leaving the traces of those experiences through clay, nurturing from an ancestral present. The artwork arises from memory, objects and every day experiences, the history, mythology and spirituality of Africa and the Caribbean.
