Observations of my environment whether past or present create the narrative of my studio practice. Currently, my work focuses primarily on functional pottery with surface decoration based in nostalgia. The repetitive visual symbols are screen-printed or drawn onto the surface that showcase memories of growing up within suburban sprawl. As I now live in a rural setting my viewpoint on boundaries between neighbors, the classic summer rituals like the driveway ice cream cones, and nature have evolved and are now being integrated into my decoration and studio practice.
