I create critters out of clay, with the intention of them being a part of our lives either through their utility or simply by their company. I am exploring various types of atmospheric firing for my pieces. I find the process and the resulting surface allows for a crystallization of each creature's personality. The journey of each piece can be read on the surface, allowing us to connect with the process of creation. I find immense joy in the intense and nurturing process of firing a wood kiln, as well as delight in discovering who comes out.
