I discovered clay while in graduate school and picked it up again a few years ago as a creative outlet. I work primarily on the wheel with porcelain which I love for its beauty and versatility. I like experimenting with different techniques, using the clay as a canvas for applying stencils and painting with underglazes; carving my pieces; or leaving them unglazed to achieve a minimalist and pure finish. More recently I have starting doing raku using horse hair and feathers as decorative elements in my pieces and making small sculptures.
