In the grand scheme of things, every person is tiny. This is something to celebrate. It gives us the perspective to be awestruck by the world around us, to be astonished. Ancient people saw massive herds of animals migrating and felt compelled to paint pictures of what they saw. In Ancient Rome, people brought small votive offerings for Apollo as an expression of personal striving. People continue to express themselves similarly to this day. We are small. Our emotions are enormous. They overwhelm us. “Little people doing things” hopes to capture this dichotomy, to demonstrate big expressions in small characters. It further expresses the innate human understanding of how fleeting life is and our deep desire to leave a mark that will be remembered by history.
