Danielle Catte

As an artist, I find deep inspiration in the natural world, particularly in the vibrant renewal of spring, the season of my birth. To honor this, I turn to the wildflowers of my childhood—the Forget-Me-Not and Poppy. The delicate Forget-Me-Not carries the message “I was here and I lived,” while the bold Poppy expresses “I loved and lived to the fullest of my spirit.” These flowers reflect the essence of who I am today. My work, especially in sterling silver, continues themes of memory and presence. The way I manipulate the metal draws from my earlier steel series, Arcs (1998-2003). The bending of the metal—fluid yet strong—mirrors my evolution, balancing structure with freedom, the known with the unknown. This tension defines my creative spirit: evolving, remembering, and living fully.
