Stemming from my love of escapism into books I create objects that captivate. My Complex forms transfix the eye and take viewers away to a place out of time. Using the machined perfection of trimming on a wheel I create intricate porcelain forms that draw from ancient architectural design, mix with contemporary ideals and hold an air of futuristic mystery. I then curate damages to on the surface of the porcelain to imitate the damage of the passage of time. After firing I respond to the ceramic forms with metal ornamentations, mechanisms or narrative sculptural elements. I create artifacts. Objects that are a half-forgotten memory of a dream of the present, future and the long past colliding. The viewer is the archeologist who is to examine the vessel or piece of jewelry and try to uncover all its secret details.
