Erin Harris

Oklahoma born and raised, Erin Harris received her BFA from the University of Central Oklahoma with an emphasis in sculpture. Working primarily in ceramics, she fell in love with the ceramic process at an early age. Clay as a medium is messy, filthy and at times heartbreaking, but throughout the ceramic process it has the ability to become something delicate and fragile that can last generations. With a passion for creating small detailed sculptures, mold making provides her with the ability to mass produce duplicates of one sculpture without sacrificing any of those details. Inspired by childhood memories and early 2000’s nostalgia, Erin uses humor and bold colors in her work to showcase reimagined everyday items and experiences, especially those involving teeth. The playfulness combined with the small size create a sense of intimacy for the viewer- like an inside joke. She strives to make art that provides a moment of relief from how heavy life can be.
