I believe my job as an artist is to encourage innovation and provoke new conversation. Inspired by the colors and textures from painter pallet scraps (“Paint Chips”), I now explore different mediuns, size and transformation. I seek to heighten material qualities by placing emphasis on color, texture, and form. Reframing, re-contextualizing, and re-conceiving seemingly known objects allows me to explore the creative process. While maintaining a playful relationship with my art, I question how a striking surfaces can guide a visual sensation by prompting an emotion, transmitting an experience, or alluding to certain interpretations.
