Between May 20th and June 16th, I hiked 454 miles in a Pacific Crest Trail section hike. The L.A.S.H. series documents this journey through a risograph-printed zine and 30 unique anodized titanium paracord brooches. Each piece represents my state of mind: one for pre-trail days, one for day zero, and 28 for active hiking days. The zine serves as part diary and part exhibition catalog, featuring titanium pieces superimposed over trip photographs. The grainy risograph process mirrors the hazy, warm quality of memory. This work bridges my passion for jewelry-making and my newfound obsession with long-distance hiking. Titanium, a key material in both jewelry and lightweight backpacking gear, unites these interests. The series reflects vulnerability and transformation, mirroring the uncertainty and introspection of hiking solo. Walking for hours became more than a task—it was an experience that profoundly shaped me.
