Casey Taylor

I’m drawn to narrative through line, color, and form. Stories can emerge out of anything, so I am finding ways to bring fascination to the otherwise ordinary. Using ceramics, I explore how objects become part of a larger story- how we create ritual around what’s precious to us, and what constitutes the value we place on our things. Nostalgia, humor, Retro fast-food packaging, 90’s cartoons, mid-century furniture, and digital culture are visual and tactile points of inspiration for me. My studio practice is an investigation into human connection- how we connnect with ourselves, with others, and how those experiences are mediated by objects we interact with.
