Postcards were messaging and email a century ago. They were as instant as was possible in a pre digital era. In communities with twice a day mail delivery a message could be sent in the morning with expectation of a reply by the evening. They were personal communications but open to public view; brief messages to convey information or just to stay in touch. These pieces are inspired by vintage postcards and are reminders and celebration of the importance of human communication and connection. The technology may change but the significance of contact through messaging endures. It is a particularly resonant theme in these times of social distancing and virtual contact.
