Olivia Vergason

My name is Olivia Vergason, and I am a senior at the Field School in Washington, DC. I have been taking ceramics classes at my school since my freshman year, and over the past three years I have developed quite a passion for pottery. My focus is in functional pottery, and I often maintain an air of simplicity in my work in order to highlight the craftsmanship of my pieces. As a young artist, most of my work centers around developing my skills and pushing my technique with the aim of growing as a ceramicist. I’ve been dabbling in tiny pottery since shortly after I started throwing on the wheel, but with this project I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to push myself to work at a smaller scale and with a more complex form than I ever had before.
